Societe Generale's commitment to green mobility and sustainable transport solutions

In today's world, the importance of sustainable and eco-friendly transportation solutions cannot be overstated. Societe Generale, a leading global financial services institution, is committed to promoting green mobility and sustainable transport options as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

Promoting green transport

As part of its commitment to sustainability, Societe Generale's Real Estate Division is actively involved in the promotion of green transport. This includes encouraging and promoting alternative means of transport that produce little or no pollution. From traditional and electric bikes to scooters and electric unicycles, the organisation is spearheading a major programme to electrify its fleet. In Paris, for example, there are over 350 parking spaces for bikes and scooters, and nearly 330 charging stations for personal electric vehicles. Similar initiatives are being implemented in other locations, such as Warsaw and Bucharest, to facilitate sustainable commuting options for employees.

Encouraging sharing and alternative solutions

In addition to promoting individual sustainable transport, Societe Generale also encourages sharing actions to reduce the environmental impact of commuting. The organisation offers car-sharing options for both personal and professional reasons, and facilitates car-pooling. Employees are encouraged to take advantage of these alternative solutions, contributing to the overall reduction of carbon emissions associated with daily commuting.

Personalised services for sustainable sommuting

Recognising the importance of personalised services, Societe Generale has implemented specific actions in certain locations to facilitate sustainable commuting for its employees. For example, in Chennai, India, a shuttle service has been optimised on the basis of each staff member's place of residence, resulting in reduced individual journeys and a significant decrease in CO2 emissions. These initiatives have already led to substantial reductions in carbon emissions and cost savings, demonstrating the organization's commitment to sustainable transport solutions.
