eSport: Societe Generale, a committed partner in gaming

Societe Generale, a key partner of eSport

Since 2018, true to our tradition of innovation, we have associated our name with esport through a partnership with the Galions club, which was born from the collaboration between Team GO and the streamer Sixen, with whom we share values of performance, rigor, teamwork, and commitment.

Since the creation of Team GO in 2011, the players have already won more than 500 awards in several games in national and global esport tournaments. The partnership with Societe Generale has allowed Team GO, of which we were a major partner until 2024 and which has now become Galions, to continue its development in France and Europe, but also to open a new generation training center so that the players can benefit from the best possible support and express their full potential.

Initiatives for all eSport enthusiasts

Societe Generale’s commitment to the development of eSport and the gaming community doesn’t stop there.

We regularly have constructive discussions with developers, gaming enthusiasts, professional players and Societe Generale members of staff at networking events.

We co-created, with influencer Doigby, the #LaDétectionBySG Fortnite online tournament, which brought together more than 10,000 participants out of the 40,000 registered gamers.

To ensure eSport’s promotion, Societe Generale was a major partner of the Z LAN annual eSport event for 4 years. This event, broadcast entirely online on Twitch, was attended by more than 200 players, most of them streamers, who played one another in 10 chosen games.

In 2020, we created “L’Académie”, which has established itself as the benchmark student eSport tournament in France. Its fourth edition broke all records, with 5,314 students taking part over 8 days with a total of 8,808 hours of gaming and 10,900 matches taking place.

When eSport and rugby come together

“La Mêlée”, an immersive experience by Societe Generale

Societe Generale brought together fans from the eSport and rugby communities for the first time for a new immersive experience on Fornite called “La Mêlée”.

The players were able to take part in four challenges inspired by the world of rugby while complying with Fortnite’s codes to try and win tickets for the 2023 autumn rugby internationals at the Stade de France. To do this, they needed to move through a scale version of the stadium, from the pitch through the changing rooms to the private boxes.

One of the aims was to enable fans of Fortnite and video games to discover the sport of rugby and to celebrate the values we share with this sport in the spirit of our rallying cry “Ensemble tout se joue” / “Together, everything is possible”.

Produced in partnership with the GamersOrigin agency, the La Mêlée experience is still available in Fortnite’s creative mode. To access it, just enter the following code in the video game: 1701-3119-9111.

“Regards croisés”, an unprecedented documentary

As a major partner of the esport club Team GO until the end of 2024, before becoming the esport club Galions, a structure that we continue to support, and the French rugby sevens team, Societe Generale has envisioned a unique encounter between these two worlds united by the quest for performance in the documentary "Regards Croisés” (Crossed Looks).

Team GO travelled to France’s National Rugby Center in Marcoussis to meet the French rugby sevens team. In return, the rugby sevens players immersed themselves in the esport and League of Legends universe by participating in various activities at Team GO’s training centre in Levallois-Perret.

Gaming as a field of commitment

"Handiskin," a unique initiative that brings visibility to disabilities

Jeu Among Us - Opération Handiskin

Committed for many years to inclusion and diversity in the sports field, Societe Generale launched the Handiskin operation in 2021, in partnership with the French Handisport Federation.

To raise awareness among the general public and encourage the gaming industry to evolve sustainably in this direction, the Group created the first playable skins featuring visible and invisible disabilities for the game Among Us.

"The Lost Symphonies", classical music at the heart of a gaming experience

The Lost Symphonies illustrates Societe Generale's desire to promote a vibrant and accessible culture for all, by bringing together its commitments in gaming and classical music.

Players are immersed in a dreamlike universe where they will have the opportunity, through 4 special challenges, to (re)discover great classical works, explore the worlds of renowned composers such as Antonio Vivaldi, Ludwig Van Beethoven, Gustav Holst, or Nadia and Lili Boulanger. The game will take place in the Philharmonie de Paris, recreated for the first time in a video game.

In collaboration with the agency GamersOrigins, The Lost Symphonies experience is available in the creative mode of Fortnite.
