Published on 21/04/2020

Recognition for our approach to sustainability

Societe Generale has been rated AA by extra-financial rating agency MSCI*, and positioned among the leading 14% of banks worldwide rated AA and AAA for action across environmental, social and governance matters.

The upgrade from A to AA is driven by a combination of factors, including:

  • a commitment to responsible lending and investment practices, from institutional clients to SMEs, and serving underbanked communities through our Africa presence
  • a focused approach to client protection through comprehensive data privacy and cyber security measures that support the digital transformation of the bank
  • a robust corporate governance and disciplined approach to manage corruption and conduct risk

We are delighted to receive external independent recognition for our focus on a positive impact for each of our clients, in each of our geographies
