Rugby world cup 2015
Live from Rugby World Cup 2015, Societe Generale celebrating team spirit
Societe Generale, which has been involved in rugby for almost 30 years, has been sharing special moments, emotions and behind-the-scenes views throughout this exceptional event held from 18 September to 31 October in England (and Cardiff). The Group was one of the tournament’s six Worldwide Partners, as well as its exclusive official bank and financial partner. The Group wanted to enable its shareholders to participate in this massive event.
Between 18 June and 7 August 2015, the Societe Generale Club organised a competition for its individual shareholders. The prizes on offer included rugby balls and shirts signed by the French players, tickets to watch Top 14 (French first division) games and, best of all, tickets for two Rugby World Cup 2015 matches! We are pleased to have been able to reward the loyalty of our shareholders – let’s hear what some of them had to say:
“First and foremost, I wanted to thank you for giving me an opportunity to go to Wembley to spend an amazing time watching the All Blacks play Argentina with my father. It is something I will never forget! Thank you so much for organising events such as these within the Shareholders’ Club!”

“Just a few clicks on a computer keyboard and a number to register: it was so simple to take part in the Rugby World Cup competition... but the biggest surprise was when we received an email telling us we had won a prize: tickets for the All Blacks V Argentina game as well as return travel by Eurostar. We couldn’t believe it, but it was true. It was so amazing to travel under the Channel and attend the match! We had excellent seats at Wembley, and the wonderful atmosphere perfectly illustrated the rugby spirit. Many thanks to Societe Generale Shareholders' Club and to the organisers of this competition.”
