Javier Guzmán appointed Senior Banker and Head of Financial Institutions for Spain and Portugal

Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking is pleased to announce the appointment of Javier Guzmán as Senior Banker and Head of Financial Institutions for Spain and Portugal, in charge of the global relationship of a client portfolio comprised of the main Spanish and Portuguese financial institutions. Javier continues to directly cover public sector entities in Spain.

Based in Madrid, Javier reports to Donato González, Group Country Head for Spain and Portugal, and to José Enrique Concejo, Global Head of Financial Institutions Group.

The Financial Institutions Group provides integrated investment banking services for banks, insurers, fund managers, pension funds as well as the public sector. It brings together a team of senior coverage bankers as well as experts in acquisition finance, Equity Capital Markets (ECM) and Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A).

Biography
Javier Guzmán has been appointed Senior Banker and Head of Financial Institutions for Spain and Portugal in November 2018. Since he joined Societe Generale in June 2007, Javier has contributed to develop the business with corporates, financial institutions and the public sector as part of the Debt Capital Markets team, a department he co-headed since September 2015. Prior to joining Societe Generale he worked for Caja Madrid, Merrill Lynch, Tokai Bank and Intermoney. 
Javier has a degree in Business Administration from Colegio Universitario San Pablo CEU.
