Gabriele Schnell appointed as Head of Global Transaction Banking for Germany

Societe Generale announces the appointment of Gabriele Schnell as Head of Global Transaction Banking for Germany, effective since November 20, 2019. Based in Frankfurt am Main, Gabriele reports to Philippe Penichou, Head of Cash Management International Network and to Francoise Esnouf, Member of the Management Board of Societe Generale’s Frankfurt Branch.

In her new role, Gabriele Schnell will leverage her extensive experience in Payments and Cash Management to further strengthen Societe Generale’s Global Transaction Banking franchise and to foster local synergies and strong cooperation with the Global Banking and Investor Solutions activities.

Global Transaction Banking integrates business activities such as cash management, international trade finance, factoring, correspondent banking and related currency services. The Bank offers this expertise to large and medium size corporates and to financial institutions.

Germany is a key market for Societe Generale where the bank has been present since 1886. It has built up, via its various divisions, close relationships with major local companies as well as financial institutions and financial investors.

Biography
Gabriele Schnell is appointed Head of Global Transaction Banking for Germany in November 2019.
Before joining Societe Generale in 2017 as Head of Payments and Cash Management for Germany, Gabriele Schnell was Head of Payments & Cash Management at HSBC Germany. She also worked as Head of Transaction Banking, Head of Client Coordination and Global Network Coordinator for Royal Bank of Scotland and ABN Amro Bank. Prior to joining the banking industry, Gabriele Schnell was for 12 years part of the Treasury department of BASF group in Ludwigshafen, Singapore and Berlin where she held different executive positions.
